The Custom Tags story

Tom Tiller, who spent his life working in the hospitality industry, originally started Custom Tags. Tom called the business Hororata Services, after the street he lived in for over 40 years.

Murray Rundle bought the business in 2005, and changed the name to Custom Tags. The new name reflects our focus as specialist hotel key tag and key ring suppliers. We still supply many of the original hotels and motels Tom started with all those years ago.

In 2019, Russell and Vicki Thorburn acquired Custom Tags. After 30 years of working for corporate stainless steel suppliers Russell understands the need for service, quality, reliability, and integrity. Having also experienced 3 company ownership changes, he also understands the need for continuity.
